Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I have been a missionary pediatrician at a rural mission hospital in Gabon for almost 23 years now. It's a privilege and blessing to have this ministry but it is hard to find the foods I need to eat healthily here and the time to get the exercise I need, not to mention the heat and humidity that makes me not want to move!!!

I'm thankful for SparkPeople to encourage and give me the tools to live a healthier lifestyle.

 I am trying to eat a healthy diet and track my food intake with the SparkPeople food tracker. I'm also trying to get 30 min. of walking or on the Gazelle Edge Trainer each day.

 I enjoy cross-stiching, putting puzzles together, reading, watching good quality TV shows and movies and playing table games as well as Nintendo DS and computer games.

    Yes, you received a trophy at 80,000 points. Look at the top of this page as it shows the trophy and that you are at level 19th. My puzzle is about 2/3 done. I don't work on it every day but it's on a table in the corner of the room so I do work on it from time to time. I bought a box of 10 puzzles to ship to Africa so decided to open it and start working on them.
