I live in Iowa; I knit, spin, weave, sew. If it has fiber I am all over it. Except for quilting and baskets; not enough time in the day.

In the fall of 2016 I decided I was old enough to be a "little, old, blue-haired lady" and had it dyed. Dearly Beloved likes it so it has stayed.

SparkPeople was off my radar for a long, long time. But after finding a new way to go I am using it again. In April 2012 I reached my first goal of losing 60 pounds and have been at maintenance ever since. Which is not quite true. If you talked with my coach I was maintaining. But I gained weight back. Right now I am not 160 but 200. It was four years returning but it returned and now I am working to take it back down without the program I used in 2011-12.

According to BMI and current weight charts (which are totally inaccurate and illogical) I was still counted as obese at 161. But right now I do not feel as good as I could. Sooooo, on the trail to lose what I have gained and perhaps go a bit lower to see how that feels.

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to limber up and gain more stamina. The fact that pounds drop off is an added benefit.

My Program:
I have added more walking; taking the stairs going up. It is bumpy going with being consistent with weights.

Personal Information:
Grace
Iowa City, Iowa
Enforced retirement in February 2017 which makes me very happy for a number of reasons: 1-more time with DB; 2-able to walk more and not be tied to an office; 3-fibre related things, creating, conferences, etc.; and 4-be outside.

Find me on Ravelry as tully; Instagram as gtullyrav; and Facebook Grace Tully to see what is going on day to day.

Other Information:
"Make it work" has become a talisman for me. Many times I want to walk away but Tim G's voice in my head will not let me and so I go back into the fray to try and make it work.

Interesting. So when you rewind a ball of yarn you must need two ball winders, right? Or is there another, or better, way?

Thanks for the bloglove, honey. I got all the pieces cut out yesterday - using stash fabric in an assortment of blues on a background of an old sheet. I'm off to the city with a GF today so I shan't get to sewing till tomorrow morning or maybe not even till Wed. But I read the directions once again just to settle the process in my head. When I sewed regularly barely had to have instructions but that was for clothes and this is more of a toy. Ha! Also! in typical Bess fashion, I am changing the pattern a little. LOL I just can't EVER leave something alone.

While there was a little bit of frittering I also finished up a baby boy sweater, all but the weaving in.

What fun to have those camping memories

Thanks for the bloglove, darlin'. But fear not - I won't be stuffing everything into 3 days. They're staying till the 9th of Jan. They are my DiL's parents and they usually come for 6 weeks in the summer but Paula (DiL) uses some website that sends notice if a super cheap flight becomes available and one did! It's still about a 15 hour trip but hey - to spend Christmas with 2 grandchildren - I'd do it. Good thing we are all so fond of each other.
