Q: What's kinda large, kinda old, and has x-ray vision?
A: Me. I lied about the x-ray vision.
I live in Michigan,(the U.S. state shaped like a mitten, for those who are geographically impaired).
My kids are grown and managed to survive "The Terrifying Adventures of Diet Mom" without being fat themselves. In fact, all six of my grandchildren are slender as well, as are the spouses of both my kids.

I have never really been THIN but I was a normal size until my kids were in double digits, and then my ability to reason where food was concerned seemed to go on the fritz.
I am sick of being the skinny person in the fat suit. I was not meant to be fat and only I can do something about that.

My Goals:
Three meals and two snacks per day
Smaller portion sizes
At least ten 8-ounce glasses of water daily
Stretch daily
Move as I am able
Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night
My Program:
My plan is simple: reduced portion sizes.
By doing this I have gradually lost over 20 pounds in the last year, It isn't fast, but it's the way the weight added on, so hopefully reversing the process will be a permanent solution!
Personal Information:
I have been married 44 years, and we have 2 grown children both married, 6 grandchildren, and 2 kitty cats.
We enjoy traveling the country in our motor home.
I lead a just-for-fun Spark group called "Are You Game" - come and check it out!
Other Information:
I like this poem by Carol Wimmer:
When I say, "I am a Christian":
I don't speak with human pride, I'm confessing that I stumble-needing God to be my guide
I'm not trying to be strong, I'm professing that I'm weak and pray for strength to carry on
I'm not bragging of success, I'm admitting that I've failed and cannot ever pay the debt
I don't think I know it all, I submit to my confusion asking humbly to be taught
I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are all too visible but God believes I'm worth it
I still feel the sting of pain, I have my share of heartache, which is why I seek His name
I do not wish to judge, I have no authority...I only know I'm loved
