I need to be healthy and lose this excess...it hinders me and slows me down. I'm not losing weight to please anybody. I want to please God Who made me and be the best I can be to do what He wants me to do! I want the outside to continue to be transformed into the person I am becoming inside! There have been some major changes in my life and it seems like I'm getting a second wind...I'm starting over again in my forties!!! I feel more alive...like I haven't felt in years...my confidence level is growing and I feel more like my self....like I'm in my 20's again! :D Look out world!

Fitness Minutes: 28,150

My Goals:
1. Gain Wisdom and Spiritual Healing while on this journey...

2. Have fun while staying motivated to making this a lifestyle!

3. Reach my goal weight by the end of 2016.

My Program:
Exercising 5-6 days a week for 30-45 mins. Doing the things I love:
Dancing, Biking, Walking, Badminton, Swimming.
I have completed several programs such as P90X and went for 2 rounds.
I have also discovered HIIT, High Intesity Interval Training! It has given me the edge I need to push through to the finish line! I am currently gym membership free and like to get inspiration from BeFit videos on YouTube. I love using bodyweight, suspension training, free weights, balance ball and resistance bands while incorporating Plyometric, Standard and Isometric exercises to further my fitness. :)

Personal Information:
Moved to Texas from California...a fresh, new start. Jesus Christ has changed my heart. I'm going forward in God's Grace, a new creation, running in this race.

    I did the first forty on my own and knew if I didn't find support I wouldn't get the last 15 off. SPARK kept me motivated just because I could motivate others. If I was setting a good example, then I felt better about myself. I hope that works for you.

    Thanks to SPARK I have successfully loss and kept the weight off. I have been sparking for 2 years now. Some days its easy, some days its hard. Sometimes time there isn't any time to do anything except to get your workout in.

    emoticon Remember this is your journey, Do your best. Start off with small manageable goals and don't forget to reward yourself along the way.

    Congrats on taking the next step to reaching a healthier you by getting active with SparkPeople - it's a great community, wonderful resources and fantastic support.

    Please check out the SparkTeams - I think you will find a lot of others 'just like you' there. You can choose SparkTeams by age group, lifestyle or interests, geographic location or several other ways - some of the teams you might like include the Official 10-minute Daily Exercise Streak Challenge, Starting Over Weekly Mini-Challenge Team, 10k Steps A Day and Motivation & Positive Attitude Plan but there are so many to choose from, you can have a great time looking for the ones that seem to fit you best! In fact, I suggest joining more than one group, post your intro there and write blogs as often as you can - you will find tons of friends and support that way, I promise!!

    In my experience, SparkPeople is like a emoticon in some ways - it's lots of fun and easy to make friends because we're all in this together. I like the way a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is emphasized instead of a 'quick fix wonder diet' so it's good for people wanting to lose weight, maintain a previous loss, get healthier, improve fitness and many other goals - it's about waaaaaay more than 'just' losing weight so you have definitely come to the right place!


    If you ever need any help using features of the site, there are tutorial videos under the HELP section that can show you how to use the features of the site. You can also find them on the START page and several other places on the site.


    If you haven't already discovered The Spark book and/or the SparkDiet linked at the bottom of the START page, check them out - the program is simple but extremely effective. There is a TON of information on this site - so much it might even seem overwhelming but fortunately we don't have to 'digest' everything at once! The FastBreak program is a good way to start.


    Another nice thing about SparkPeople is that we have permission to be human - we don't have to change everything at once or be in a hurry to reach our goals. Take a few baby steps and then a few more and before you know it, you'll have completed a long journey - I hope you enjoy this community as much as I do - it teaches us how to make positive lifetime changes because that's the only thing that will work over time!


    It's what you do today that counts!!
