Hi! My name is Amanda. Thanks for stopping by my page! I am a first grade teacher and the cheerleading coach for my district. I try to stay very active, but struggle with my eating habits. I have really yo-yoed up and down on my weight. I lose weight, then I gain it back.

I ran my first half marathon November 20, 2011 and finished in 2:30:01!!! I am a runner. Never in my life did I think I would change my gymnast power muscles into endurance muscles. I LOVE running and it is my definite out from everything. I am now training for my first ever MARATHON in November 2012!

Now it is time to start balancing this food thing! I am in limbo with the eating healthy/eating poorly cycle. I am trying my hardest to get in a healthy habit. I have started the Paleo lifestyle and I hope this helps me to balance things out. Through my journey I have learned that my body doesn't process grains or starches well at all, so the Paleo lifestyle seems to be a good match.

Here are my current goals and reward system I have come up with!

GOALS/REWARDS
155 - Pedicure (July 29)
150 - 30 min relax in bath with glass of red wine (Aug 19)
145 – 2 New shirts (Sept 9)
143 – New Belly Button Ring
140 – 2 pairs of jeans (I better need them after losing 17 lbs) (Oct 14)
139 – Sexy date with hubby
138 – Full spa pedicure with mom
137 – Sperry’s
136 – New sexy dress
135 – Full body massage! Reached goal!! (Hope to be here by Marathon in November) (November 18)

My Program:
Control portion sizes.

Eat within 1200-1500 cals a day.

Run 15 miles each week.

Strength train 3 times a week and cardio 6 times a week.

    keep the nutrition clean and lift heavy - you will be running in the sports bra this summer. and you know what.. i bet if you find yourself running in that sports bra you will start to love summer running more than winter because you will be so proud of yourself and your hard work! (not gonna lie, that's more than half the reason i love hot runs so much more!!!)

    Wow.. 9:40 miles.. thats awesome. You always run faster in a race anyway. As long as you keep up with the speed work you can probably get that, if not, very close. I was going to train for sub 10 minute miles for this race coming up, but after a few runs in, I decided I no longer cared to torture myself with trying to run really fast. I don't even like running. Well, I do like running.. when it's about 80 degrees out, sunny and I'm doing it at my leisure. When it's cold, I have on layers, I'm looking at dead trees and my chest/ lungs hurt, I would rather sit at home and prick myself with needles. I mean, honestly, the point of fitness is to be healthy, right? Well why not do something you love to be healthy? there's so many modes to get from point a to point b, i just use a different mode than runners!

    that said.. im heading out for a run right now! but im in south florida.. huge difference from boston!!

    keep me posted on how the training goes!
