I am a stay at home mom to a 12 year old, and have 2 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. I have been fighting my weight for the last 18 years due to health issues. I have lost 30 lbs several times, but after only a year or so, gain it back. I reached my all time high weight the middle of December, and it is simply unacceptable. I have a soft goal of 70 lbs to lose, and a hard goal of 30. I have lost 44 lbs since the first of the year.

I have lost 30 lbs several times, but after only a year or so, gain it back. I reached my all time high weight the middle of December, and it is simply unacceptable. I have a soft goal of 70 lbs to lose, and a hard goal of 30. I have lost 44 lbs since the first of the year.
I am going to try and do this with groceries that I can get easily and without diet products. I do have a plan though. Smoothies once a day and 1 main meal, and 1 small meal, and 1 snack per day. My lifestyle changes for this year include, weight, giving up soda, increased exercise, drink more water, finding a job, taking steps to be debt free, building a savings account, building my Mary Kay business, and saving enough to buy a second car for the family. I will be tracking and journaling, and you can follow my journey here or in my facebook group "It's Your Choice". I prefer facebook for interacting, as SparkPeople is still a bit awkward for actual conversations.
One thing that I have found very helpful is taking pictures of all my food. Everything that goes into my mouth. It is helpful in two different ways. First, if I can't track the food at that moment, it helps me remember what I ate. Second, presentation is key to enjoyment of your food and feeling satisfied. Taking a picture of your food helps you to create pretty presentation. Third, sharing my food pictures helps to keep me accountable. Forth, sharing my meal pictures helps my friends with meal ideas, and then sharing their pics helps give me ideas. Finally, sharing pictures of my meals helps me to show others that you can eat well, and eat smart, without spending tons of money on specialty products and supplements.
