Turning fifty was like reaching a certain point on a mountain -- the hike has been long and, at times, quite difficult, but all in all, it hasn't been a bad climb. And, from here, the view is spectacular - I have truly been blessed! I'm 62 now. My goal is to live life to its fullest; spiritually, mentally, and physically. If the view is this good after 50, then I'm looking forward the rest of "the climb!"

My Goals:
Spiritual, emotional, and physical fitness

My Program:
Begin each day by remembering that my spiritual nourishment and fitness is going to have a direct impact on my emotional and physical fitness.

Physical program:
Walk-at-home program 5 days per week.
Stability ball 3 days per week.
Hand weights or resistance bands 3 days per week.
Walk wherever and whenever I can and use the time to reflect and give thanks in everything.
Try to eat slowly and re-incorporate REAL food back into my diet. Learn ABOUT the food and be awed by the God Who created it!
Fruit and veggies, fruit and veggies, fruit and veggies! (Do I hear the Veggie Tales theme song in the background?!)
Smile and laugh more; It's good as a face lift and I'm sure a good laugh must carry some aerobic qualities!

Personal Information:
I am happily married to a wonderful man who brings life, love, and laughter wherever he goes. We have two wonderful sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law, and four precious grandchildren who have captured our hearts in a way we never knew was possible!

Other Information:
Somehow, each home we've lived in has either been a "handyman's special" or we've managed to find a wall to take down, put up or do some other extreme renovation. I'm beginning to suspect that it's either a hobby or a sickness...I'm not sure which!

Hey my dear SparkFriends! Thank you so much for your warm welcomes and wonderful comments -- I love reading them and I truly treasure you as friends! Just a fun FYI: "Toby" is actually the name my grandkids call my husband Craig -- it's the name he wanted them to use instead of grandpa or pop-pop (don't ask me why...he just liked the sound of it and I must confess that it does sound really cute when they call for "their Toby!") My name is actually Deborah (Deb to my friends), but my grandkids call me "Mamah" (accent on the second syllable). I "borrowed" the name from a dear woman who has been a mentor to me over the years, and my daughter-in-law personalized it by adding the "h" at the end since my birth name ends with an "h." And so there you have it: Craig and Deb, or Toby and Mamah...thanks again for the smile! Love to you all! emoticon

    Hi Toby (hehe)!!

I don't know, all I can say is this is a gift I've been given (I believe). I have been in a zone for over two months and have found it easy, up to this point, to exercise and say no to the junk. This time around is very different from any other. I want to treat it like I've received a gift from God and stay on track! Thanks for your encouragement friend! Looking forward to seeing you both!

    Bless ya,
    Denise
