After 20 years of sluggishness, I am finally trying my hand out at this active healthy lifestyle deal. I've always wanted to be thinner, but I have used many excuses to keep me from acting on this desire.

A lot of it stems from the fact that I hate the feeling of being bad at something. Of course, everyone does! I had some major self confidence issues after high school too, I used to think that you had to be skinny to work out in public. But I wasn't skinny, so I wasn't "allowed". I'm trying to face down that self conscious nervousness, and allow myself to be a novice at something. And I'm trying to face down that feeling that I'm "not allowed" because EVERYBODY is allowed to act in a healthy way.

I am working hard to try and get rid of some of these things I used to tell myself. Because I love trying new things, and I love exercising and I love cooking healthy food. I'm working on being less self conscious in some ways, less of a know it all in other parts of my life and being more humble, being the empty cup.
