I have many many diagnosis that cause pain, some of them severe and all permanent. The greatest are disc pushing into my spinal cord which is so painful and makes it difficult to stand. I had two surgeries that worked for 2 years, now arthritis has set in and more are poking out. I have disc on all levels that are out. From all of the epidural blocks that I got, the steroid in them dried out all of my disc. The list just goes on. I have fibromyalgia which is terrible. Also Numbness and tingling in all extremeties, also pain. I have alot of neurological pain. As I said the list goes on and on, so I won't list them all. I use a walker and a wheelchair at times. On good days I can stand or walk a little, which I try everyday.
My first husband died 5 years ago. We had been married 30 years. I'm still depressed from it. I got married shortly after to fill the void and stop depression. It didn't help with my depression or void from my loss.
My oldest daughter won't speak to me because of getting married so soon. My youngest daughter is great. She had moved down here after her father died. Then I moved down here for her and for the weather. I live in SE Missouri.

Personal Information:
I am originally from North Central Illinois, on the borderline of Wisconsin. I moved to SE Missouri for the warmer weather and to be with my daughter. The warmer weather really helps with my pain. I'm trying to do whatever I can to keep from taking too much pain medicine. I am a nurse, but became disabled. I get very depressed from not being able to work. I loved my job as a cardiac nurse. My husband has also become disabled from several things. This is my second marriage, of 4 years. My first husband died 5 years ago. We had been married for thirty years, and I still have problems dealing with his death. I was so depressed when he died, I thought that getting married again would stop my depression, but it hasn't, as you might guess.

Hello Paula, I just stopped by your page to get to know you better. I also still use a wheelchair when shopping and a walker around the house. I can only stand for a little while, and this is all new to me also. I wish I could work too, and get bored sitting around the house. So I know how you feel. Glad you decided to join Sparks, I look forward to getting to know you better. Sherry.

Hello Mimaw! I just have the one (step) grandbaby who calls me "Mimaw" (the older one calls me "Elizabeth"), but I'm sure there will be more as the years go by... at least I hope so. My son had always wanted lots of kids, but with his death two months ago, those dreams have died. My daughter just married and is only 22, so it will be some years before they even try. We'll see! Nice to talk to you on the boards, take care, MimawElizabeth

Hi, Paula! Thought I'd stop by and check out your page. Thanks for adding me as a friend! I'll do the same. Although my pain is in my shoulder-dislocated permanently-and my ankle-fused, we do both share pain.

If I can give you one piece of advice let it be: Remember, it's all only temporary! Just a test for Heaven.

Keep up the good work! You're doing great. Thanks, again, Paula.
