I stumbled upon this site when I was looking for Diet/Fitness/Nutrition Information. I watched a video about it and decided to join. I plan to spend some time looking around and want to begin some kind of diet/fitness/weight loss plan this week ... probably the day after Labor Day (2008).

I have set/reset my goals here several times - I have had successes and setbacks ... but this site seems to keep me 'on track' ~ even if I 'stray' every now and again. I have actually lost 25 lbs. and as a result, reached my goal - but, slowly, over time I got 'lazy' and gained it all back! I find that as you get older, it is more difficult to lose - so, it is nobody's fault but my own, but this will take some work!

4/7/18: The first day of the 2018 Spring 5% Challenge and I'm resetting my program AGAIN! I'm at what might be my heaviest and I really need to stop this 'upward trend' and get myself set on getting the numbers on the scale to move DOWN. Springtime (or at least the HOPE of Springtime this year) seems to be the perfect time to 'reset' and 'recommit'.

My Goals:
I started here in September, 2008 with a goal to get into shape and lose 24-25 lbs. I've achieved my goal in the past, but didn't pay attention all the time and I need to get back to and re-focus on that first goal (getting there and sticking to it).

My main goal is to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Healthy, sensible eating and exercise is exactly what is needed!

My Program:
In 2010, I found the 5% Challenges. These Challenges, along with some common sense eating/exercising are some of the things that have helped me most on this journey to create a 'healthier' me.

It is now the beginning of 2018 Spring 5% Challenge and these Challenges are still a very important a part of my SparkLife. I love the Challenges and plan to continue them as long as I'm a SP member. As an additional resource, (and a present to myself), I signed up for SparkCoach and began that feature on 1/1/17.

~~~~~Spring 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment~~~~~
1. MINIMUM Exercise (walk outside or Leslie Sansone DVD's when the weather isn't that great) ... 4-5 times/week (approximately 30 minutes/session)
2. Research and explore strength training options and try to incorporate them into my routine.
