I do keep a food journal and an exercise journal. I have discussed these things with my doctor which is why the lack of weight loss has been so discouraging. If I go over my calories by even 100 calories...I can expect to gain but if I stay within my range I'm lucky to lose a half a pound. Years ago, before the diabetes and thyroid issues I could simply lay off the sweets or go out dancing once a week and the pounds would just melt away. Now, I have to restrict my diet and work out more than I have ever worked out in my entire life and I'll be damned if I don't GAIN weight instead. No, it's not muscle. No, I'm not losing inches. My metabolism is shot and my cells don't utilize the insulin my body produces EFFECTIVELY which means my cells aren't getting the energy they need to perfrom the way that they should. It's a struggle but I've not given up yet. 4283 days ago
