I'll soon be 68, am happily married, mother of 4 (3 girls and a boy) and grandmother to 4 boys, from age 1 to 18. (Some of my kids got a late start.) I love to paint (I'm an artist), play bridge, garden and spend time with friends and family. I'm also a 3 time cancer survivor -- two lymphomas and one breast cancer.

As far as weight is concerned, I've never been dramatically overweight, just a little more than I am comfortable with. Since I am a under 5 feet tall, I can't consume the calories of a larger person. Exercise helps me stay trim and become even healthier. When I was training for the Komen 3 Day last year, I had no problem keeping my weight down. However, in October I had a stress fracture in my right foot and had to back off the training. In November, I walked in the Komen, but refractured my foot on the second day. Then came the holidays and a short vacation. Getting on the scales, I had gained 8 pounds from my low previous to the walk. Yikes!

I'm committed to dropping those pounds and a few more by summer. Writing down my activities and food on this site really helps to keep me focused.

Hi! Welcome to the Artists Team. Your self portrait is wonderful; a unique pose, full of wonder and promise. Congratulations and Praise God for your cancer recoveries. I agree with the previous writer that your hair is darling short and 'pixie-like' it really suits your diminutive size and sparkling smile!
    All the Best!
