My name is Jenny. I got married in April, 2006, and since then have gained about 15 pounds. This is not the first time I've been heavy...I was a chunky kid, teenager, and young adult and finally got serious about losing the weight a couple of years ago when I was in law school. At that time I lost 25 lbs, and kept the weight off for two years. During my honeymoon, and the months that have followed, I've managed to start gaining it back. I joined Sparkpeople early in 2006, but haven't gotten serious about following the program until now -- when NONE of my clothes fit. I look forward to getting to know others following the program and thanks in advance for the advice and support!

My Goals:
To get back in shape, to enjoy exercise again, to make healthy eating a habit, to lead a balanced life, and to reach my goal weight.

Mini Goals:
140 by 12/11/06
135 by 1/8/07
130 by 2/5/07
125 by 3/5/07
120 by 4/2/07
118 by 4/28/07


My Program:
Diet:
-8 glasses of water/day
-Mindful eating: focus on eating when hungry, stopping when full, avoiding distractions while eating (tv, computer), and identifying and resolving non-hunger triggers without eating.

Exercise:
-Follow half marathon training schedule
-Strength train twice/week
-Attend at least one group workout class/week

Daily Evaluation:
I will rate each day based on how well I followed the diet and exercise program above, with each component being rated on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the best. A score of 10 would be a perfect day; anything less than that I will identify areas that I can improve.

Weight:
I am going to weigh myself daily, and post my average weight for each week. I think this will help me see an overall downward trend, rather than being so concerned about my weight at one moment on one day of the week.

    A baby?! CONGRATS! Wow, time flies. I cannot believe you have a lil' bitty baby already! How wonderful, so happy for you!

    Well, you can always come back to spark people to loose the baby weight! No shame in that. At least you have a good reason. I gained and lost about 20 over the last year. What a roller coaster. Ugh. Wish I could just maintain :) Hope to see you around more often!
