My dad did some college in Paris, so they were pretty into wine with dinner, so I hear you.

Can you do 2 water chasers after every wine? Then you might only want to drink 2 glasses?

Or can you give up calories elsewhere, prioritizing your wine calories? Or do an extra wine's worth of exercise?

No problem if you are working on your audiobook; if you need a blogging buddy in the future, reach out.
I've 'Friended' you, so I'll see your posts on the 'community feed' if you do anything there.

Great advice for the wine. I wish it was that easy. I usually have three 4oz glasses in the evening after my husband comes home and we have dinner together. I don't know if I can just stop or try to have less. It seems hard for some reason. Thank you for the encouragement about my blog. I just have other areas I need to commit to first. My major one is to complete recording my book so I can put it on Audible. Then I would like to make that a career to read other books. Right now, that's where I need the most help. I have to redo a few chapters so I'm trying to isolate them from an earlier recording at a studio. I don't like how I read it. That was before all my training. So now I need to take it apart and it is so much harder than just starting from scratch. Thanks for listening. I'm running at the fingers.

Yep, wine is great, but totally empty calories. In terms of calories, protein & carbs have 4 cals/g, fat has 9 cals/g, and alchohol of whatever sort has 7 cals/g, plus it bypasses parts of the digestive system going straight into your bloodstream (which is why it's fun). My folks used to do a glass (sometimes 2) of wine daily. Recently, w/covid, they've stopped, because it's harder to get when shopping doesn't happen as often, and mom now fits in some pants that were too tight at the beginning of the summer.

You had said you were looking for support in writing your blog on your website. I would do that with you, if you desire.

Thank you. I can use the support. I've been faithful in logging in my food and the numbers suggest I'm in the average but this morning I was a pound higher. I'm going to try to go down to just one glass of wine tonight (4 oz) and see if that helps. I think alcohol can impede weight loss even when we log them. I've had 4 straight days on the bike on my 7 day challenge. I really want this to work. emoticon

I saw that you were at one point on the San Diego team, but I don't see it in your lineup now. You have a lot of possible allegiances that might make more sense for camaraderie, especially in this time of COVID, where people might not be willing to take advantage of living close by, so I get it. But I'm here to support you! I have had pretty good success with my efforts over the years and feel I have a lot to offer, especially in terms of the mental side of this journey, the part that helps us actually implement food plans that are the result of our best education and observation of ourselves. (But I do know a bit about how food and satiety work, as well. Willpower does play a role, but attitude and food choices can lessen how much willpower we need.) Warmest wishes!
