My journey began at 200 lbs with a goal to lose a total of 70 lbs.

Initially I lost about 40 lbs. In Jan 2017, I injured my shoulder and foot in an accident leading to steroid injections, surgery and physical therapy. Recovery was slow; I regained a lot of weight and developed other health issues that further impacted my progress. In 2018, a check-up revealed that my BP and cholesterol were also dangerously high.

Determined not to live on meds, I decided to focus on lifestyle and dietary changes. Join me on my journey to health!

My Goals:
To go from 200 lbs to weigh 135 lbs.
To be a size 10.
Get strong, fit & healthy, and have more energy.


My Program:
Following old WW exchange-based diet/program. 1-2 liters water daily.
Exercise/activity 60-90 minutes/day. Strength training 3 x a week.
Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds programs
Also using SparkPeople Workout DVDs and others.

My name is Karen. I love people, sharing life experiences, and learning about different cultures and foods. Favorite foods (so far) are Italian, Mexican, Chinese,Thai and Middle Eastern. Also I am Christian - I love God and I love the Word of God - Jesus is my Savior and Lord! Spiritual influences include: Joseph Prince, Keith Moore, & Kenneth & Gloria Copeland. I also love animals/nature, living in the country, walking/hiking and fitness, writing, history, art. Enjoy classic, sci-fi & mystery novels. Love Dr. Who (old and new series!) and old movies 40s-50s-60s (TCM) & action/drama films (eg. Bourne series). I am also an artist... see paintings in photo gallery.

    You are welcome Karen, love reading your blogs. Yes I will be very careful, heard the coyotes this morning when walking so went home and went with hubby later. I have been seeing scary stuff on the news, so decided to be safe instead of sorry. Wow, really something about the bear you saw, sad what happened, but I suppose it had to happen.
