I've had a life-long battle with my weight and joined SparkPeople several years ago as I was trying to get my life back during a very messy divorce. From a high of 250 lbs I've gotten as low as 170 and have settled in at about 190. I feel great, look younger than I did 10 years ago and have discovered my inner athlete. I work full-time and have four kids (ages 8-11), so finding the time to eat right and work out can be a real balancing act, but fortunately I have a very supportive husband and have found a community of active friends.

Over the past couple of years I've done half-marathons, a full marathon, cross-country skiing ultra-marathons (160KM over 2 days),cycling "double centuries" (180KM per day for 2 days) and just recently completed my first full Ironman triathlon (Swim 4KM, Bike 180KM and Run 42KM) and most recently completed the Goofy Challenge at DisneyWorld (half marathon on Saturday, full marathon on Sunday). I was never athletic growing up and was fairly sedentary for most of my adult life, so I point out these milestones just to say that if I can do it anyone can do it!

I know that being a bit leaner would make me faster and my lessen my likelihood of injury, so I'm looking to lose 15-20 lbs. My short-term goal is to lose 5-7 lbs by February 8th when I will be skiing the Canadian Ski Marathon.
