Weight loss that is.
After a very sobering visit with my doctor back on June 16th , 2008.
My weight was 318, BP was through the roof.
I started following the Weight Watchers points plan that same day.
I started to workout also.
5 days later I learned from my Dr. that I had Hypothyroidism.
So lets just say I had a lot on my plate all at once.
With the onset of treatment for the Hypothyroidism my desire to consume mass quantities and boat loads of sugar diminished substantially.
So now as I write this its Aug. 15th and I have lost 28 pounds. I weight in at 290 on the 11th.
I still have so far to go but feel so much better already.
My goal weight is 198. If I get there, I will reward my self with a trip to a foreign country! Now that's incentive!!!
I almost joined the WW web site but then I found the Sparkspeople web site and was so impressed with the community that I felt this is where I want to be.
I am looking forward to not only getting help and support from my fellow Sparkers on my new journey but I look forward to helping and encouraging others who on the same path of weight loss as I.
I will be glad to talk to anyone with Hypothyroidism also.

My Goals:
Get down to my goal weight.
Get fit and head back out onto the tennis court.
Be able to do 70 mile bike trips in Vermont again.


My Program:
Following the Weight Watchers Points system. Walk daily and do stringth training to maintain and build lean tissue.



Personal Information:
Dad of three great kids. Living in Florida and enjoying the beaches and sunshine. Connecticut native who does not miss the snow and cold of the north but really miss the great pizza found in Connecticut!!!


Other Information:
Love my Red Sox!! Am a fan of Sci-fi...SG1, SG Atlantis, Eureka, Star Trek, Babylon5, Lexx, Firefly, Dr. Who, Farscape and dont even get me started about BSG!!!
Love to read too mostly historical fiction. Tv well its ER, Rescue Me, Survivor, House, CSI.
