Hey fellow Oregonian! Thanks for stopping by my page! My husband and I just moved from Eugene to Harrisburg (a tiny town near I-5), so not really that far from Monmouth. Looks like you've had a lot of success with your program - way to go!

I guess my favorite hike close to eugene would be for a dayhike, the Makenzie river trail. You can pick something close to town or something up by clear lake. My wife likes the loop around the falls and Carmen resevoir. I like the loop from the falls to trailbridge and backup. The Tamolitch pool section is a nice shorter section too. The best thing is the proximity to the hiway and you really can't tell it's there. Just pick a section and go for as long as you want. William Sullivan's Central cascades guide book and waterfall lovers guidebook are two good hike books for the Eugene area
