Introduction Text Well, I am in my 50's now. And, although I have the added complication of rheumatoid arthritis, I am determined to get down to the weight I want and up to the fitness level I need. I have battled my weight my whole life and would like it to end in my middle age.

I want to be comfortable in my body and mind. I want to grow old gracefully and full of health. I want to be at peace with myself regarding my weight, eating and exercising.

Eat healthily and as close to nature as possible. Move my butt 6 or 7 days a week. Keep a positive outlook.

I'm an empty nester, happily married, living in southern Vermont. We have a very beloved Golden and a very fuzzy cat.

I love, love, love to read and would do it for a living if I could figure out how to make it pay! I read historical fiction, science fiction, nonfiction--gardening, health, education, history, home decorating. I recently discovered yoga and fell in love.
