Hi...I'm a 34 yr old wife and mother of one. I am currently obese and wanting to lose weight. I am ready to begin making changes toward better health and a more active lifestyle. My miracle baby was born Oct 09' and she is the light of my life. I was already obese when I got pregnant with her but I had a beautiful pregnancy Thank God. After she was born I dropped all the pregnancy weight I had gained within a week however, I have since put it all back on. I feel terrible because when I was pregnant I was sure that I would not go back to bad habits after she was born because I wanted to be a great role model. I allowed myself to get lazy and here I am currently carrying around 330 lbs....ugh! This site is amazing and some of the success stories I have read are extremely motivating. I am very excited!!!!

My Goals:
I think the biggest goal is just to feel better. I want to be able to go places and do things. I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and be a beautiful role model for my daughter.


My Program:
As of now I am keeping my 3 mini goals of drinking 8 glasses of water, writing in my journal and exercising atl east 10 mins a day. I usually end up exercising more than that each day cause I feel that once I've started why stop at just 10 minutes so I take my daughter on a walk everyday in her wagon. She loves it!!!

My name is Jenneffer. I am 34 yrs young and I live in Jacksonville, FL. I have been married for 10 years to a wonderful man who loves me for who I am. In 2009 our dream of having a child together came true and today we have a beautiful 1 1/2 yr old daughter named Lily. She lights my world.

    Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful daughter Lily! She must be getting SO big :) I had a son in July '09 so our kids aren't that far apart.

    I totally understand and know how you feel. It sounds like you are at the same breaking point I was at. You want to be a healthy role model for your daughter. It is important. What's more important is that she deserves to have a mom, period. Think of it that way. In a few years time, you could have all kinds of health issues due to being obese. You might even be diabetic right now and don't even know it. So, what's the issue? Losing weight is hard, I know. It's an hourly process in the beginning. Start by making small changes. It's not possible to change completely overnight. That is a formula for failure.

    Do me a favor. Write the following statement down and sign it. Write as many as you need so you can hang up in those problem areas. You'll understand a little more once you read the statement.

    "I promise to make healthy and positive choices so that I can live a healthy lifestyle and reach my goals."

    My statements are written on a 3x5 piece of a paper and taped to my cubicle at work, pantry door at home and the fridge. It works, trust me. I also have a picture of me at my biggest holding my daughter. This picture is clearly visible on the fridge. You've got to get your motivation and inspiration. Once you have that, no one and nothing will stop your freight train until you've reached those goals.

    Who knows, you might even have a second child. It happened to me. My son was completely unexpected. My body worked the way it's supposed to so it did what it was supposed to. Man what a difference in pregnancies. First off, I looked pregnant. Second, I didn't feel pregnant. I ate healthy and worked out the entire time. I felt like a million bucks!

    You will be healthy and lose this weight. Why? Because you want it bad enough. You are the only one truly holding yourself back.

    I could go on and on :) Let me know if you need any advise or help. I'm more than willing to do that.

    Hey Jen! First of all thanks for adding me as a friend! Secondly I read your blog and I know EXACTLY what you mean. I actually ignored this site for 2 years and gained an extra 32 pounds so I have a VERY real reason not to do that again!

    I'd love to hear from you whenever you want to talk to someone about your plans or your problems; they'll probably be much the same as mine!

You're in the right place to reach your goals, but promise that you'll stop in every day and log your water, log your veggies and fruit, log your food, log your exercise, and read, and post, and log your water, and write on someones page, and read some more, and blog, and log your water, and LEARN that you are not alone, and we're all right here with you! Did I mention that you should log your water?

    WHEW! Ok, I know you're overwhelmed getting to know this site, but use those buttons up there, especially the MY TRACKERS drop down list, and then either the START or MY SPARKPOINTS. Both of these helped me gain momentum and meet new friends.

    Speaking of meeting new friends, this place is like a cocktail party. If you stand in the corner, you won't have as much fun. Make eye contact (or in this place, leave a message on someone's page, or add your opinion to the bazillion conversations going on) to say HI, and you'll meet new friends quick.

    It also helps to write a regular blog to share what's going on in your life with others. The titles will draw new friends to your page too. Explore, learn, and never be afraid to reach out for help. We're all in this together!
