Hi - my Apple watch tells me it's time to get up and move - so I usually do! I walk everyday at lunch too! I have a spare pair of shoes under my desk. I try to get over 5,000 steps in before I get home and then get the rest jogging or at dance class or water jogging. Have a great night!

Wonderful post. I love your positive view, it will get you far. Tracking your food seems to be a consistent step in our journey. I am not good at that, maybe because I am not organized and just played with the process. So here go the excuses, I am going to do this right. emoticon

Thank you for sharing your journey with us! Some people have the knack for making people relate through writing and you are one of them.
I just read your "cancer" story and especially enjoyed it since I am Helpful Nurse in a family practice office and one of my motivations for healthy diet and exercise was/is a diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ breast cancer 11 years ago.
Keep pushing, good health is worth it!

You are a good writer and I love your "stepping up to the plate." Wanted to address your "NO!" to waking up to exercise. I've done that fairly easy in the past. But now I'm 74, live a great relaxed lifestyle, and 9 a.m. had become my wakeup hour of choice.

Then I got Bella. My bucket list achievement Border Collie, now 6 month old michievous ornery lovable bundle of energy. And I willingly get up at 6 a.m. to walk for at least 20 minutes. Because of all the physical things I have to do with her, by balance has improved, joints less painful and energy level increased.

My hope for you is that you find something that you love to get you more active. Looks like you golf. Things can change fast. Good luck to you. emoticon

I love the featured blog part of Sparkpeople because it introduces me to so many interesting people. I see you are on a long journey to good health and just want to cheer you on your way. Absolutely - dump the negative words our culture uses to describe our efforts. Write your own. I know some folk feel challenged by negativism but the rest of us like to move towards Good Things. And you have lots of Good Things up ahead. Enjoy the journey.
