I'm 23 years old and a 5th year neuroscience major.
I've finally found the motivation I needed to get going with leading a healthy lifestyle and it goes far beyond just counting calories, and running monotonous laps around a track; I've finally come to realize that it changes YOU in more than just the physical way. Your mindset has to be completely altered if you want to be fit; it takes a state of readiness to work at it and I feel like after 5 years of trying to get to this stage I am FINALLY HERE and boy does it feel good. All of my life, losing weight was only about counting calories or running, but there really IS a science behind it.

You have to want it bad enough to be diligent, conscientious, and focused. Once you get that incredible sense of focus you rarely fall off the wagon, once you get that momentum you are really READY and you won't ever turn back because you know what it's like to be in the state you were before you took on your plan to lose weight and take a step towards better health.

Strength Training:
I'm following a bodybuilding plan that I am hoping will take me into the last stage of toning up. I need a lot more definition and so far I have been seeing slow results so I am really hoping for some results to come through for me on this new workout. I change up my routine every 3-4 weeks so if you want to see what my routine looks like just check my blog!!

I have reduced my cardio from 5 days a week to 2 because too much cardio can hinder muscle growth so I've cut a lot, but due to that I have clamped down hardcore on my diet and cut out ALL sugar...even sugar from fruit. I get fruit on Saturdays only and I have one meal (Saturday night) to eat whatever I want and boy do I savor those Saturday night meals. Eating properly was a tough process for me to deal with, but I think I have finally come to master it and I feel great about it because I find it more difficult to do than exercise. I'm an exercise bunny!!!

My Goals:
I'm hoping to lose 20-25 lbs, decrease my body fat % to about 15% and tone up and have a solid rock hard body in time for summer 2009!!

My Program:
Strength training 5 days a week...5-day split cycle. Cardio 2 times a week. I work my abs on alternating days. I eat zero sugar, all of my carbs come from oats, brown rice and other grains. Clamping down on the diet has significantly changed my body composition in ways I never thought possible.

I have recently started carb cycling wit the following cycle:
M: moderate carbs
T: very low carbs
W: high carbs
Th: moderate carbs
F: very low carbs
S: high carbs
S: low carbs

Personal Information:
My name is Sarah. I love to run, play the piano and dance. I'm a morning person...I love to be up early. I live for music and it gets me through my workouts and pushes me hard.

Other Information:
Music is a big part of my life. My favorite bands and singers are: Britney Spears, The Killers, Paris Hilton, PCD, The Perishers, AAR, Hellogoodbye, Sean Paul, Beyonce, etc.

I love jazz, classical, pop, hip hop rock, etc....anything except country.
