Justfurkids Carol lives on 45 acres in rural Tennessee with her husband and 6 German Shepherds... aka “the Kitchen Wolves”, all rescues & beloved house dogs. Actively pursuing healthier lifestyle changes including living KETO (Low Carb, Healthy Fat).


My Goals-
- Clean Eating: In other words, eat more REAL FOOD - whole, unprocessed, unrefined healthy food.
- I’m a MasterGardener so we grow what we can. Yep organic. (Some years are better than others.)
- Pay attention to ingredient labels, watching for additives & prioritizing whole foods over pre-packaged options.
- Fewer processed pre-packaged items means I consume fewer preservatives & additives I’d much rather avoid. I believe they disrupt the digestive system.
- Continue drinking 90 oz of water daily (including three 10 oz glasses with Lemon Juice or Apple Cider Vinegar & 2 teaspoons fiber).
- Continue educating myself and actively pursuing the KETO lifestyle....Paleo... Low Carb/High Fat
- ENJOY MORE EXERCISE and take the time to regularly log nutrition & work outs.(Yoga, Dog Walks, Total Gym, Farm Chores)
- Continue mindful breathing, eating, positive attitude:all so healthy!
- Continue 5 & 10 minute meditations every morning & evening with Simple Habit and Calm Apps

My Goals:
So far so good. Great in fact! How can it be this easy? (knocking on wood.)
I’m down 67.8 pounds in 9 months (since Jan 12. 2018). Hit a couple long plateaus and busted right on thru. It helps considerably if you expect that & remain dedicated to the journey toward better health.

I did hit my original goal and moved the goal posts! My goal now is 154 which will take me out of the "overweight" category according to the BMI charts. So that's another 20 lbs!
This year or next. I know I'll get there with all the encouragement and support from my Spark Friends! Y'all rock! Thank you!

    Thx for commenting in my post. I have plateaued since Dec. My trainer was pointing out all the changes and first said to throw scale away. I want to ay least know I'm not gaining but obvious changes...rings falling off, face thinner, posture, ...

    yeah thats not good on your hubs, one or the other..either low carb high fat, or low fat and go for the carbs. i have found suitable substitutions for almost everything..if you need recipes let me know!! he might be surprised..i ship cupcakes all over the country and to canada, and noone can tell they are keto!

    I know, right?! And TOTAL GYM advertises SPARK quite a bit too so I don't get it. Thank you so much Cathy! I have noted all your advice on how to log the TG minutes/exercises (strength - circuit) but I'm still a newby & scratching my head over it if its not on a menu but I am determined to figure it out & make it work! Thanks again. You are a sweetie! emoticon

    Hey there, thanks for your encouragement on my community posts. emoticon As for the Total Gym, I either record each exercise and how many minutes I do them or just recently I've started recording them as circuit training. Usually when I record the squats on the Total Gym it's for my Physical Therapy exercises that I do separately from all of the exercises I do on the Total Gym. emoticon It would be nice if they had a separate category for exercises done on the Total Gym. Considering how long the Total Gym has been around though I don't see them doing that. emoticon
