    I'm sorry to hear about your neck injury :(
    I think maybe an ab exercise you could try with your injury is lying on the floor, extend your arms over your head and hold onto something (like the underside of your couch). And keep your knees bent and keeping your abs tight and using your abs (not your legs) pull your knees into your chest - lifting your butt off the floor.
    If you do this correctly, without moving your neck at all and focus on holding tightly with your arms for support (instead of normally using neck and back) this shouldn't hurt you, and is an effective ab workout. Try working up to 3sets of 15reps. When you master that add ankle weights.

    Hi again,
    I think brisk walking would be good. Maybe you could get a pedometer and aim for a certain amount of steps a day? They are great, you can put them in your pockets too and they still work if you don't want people to see you wearing it. And they are cheap ~ like $10 f/ Walmart.

    Also 5lb weights is fine , especially if you are just starting out. I would suggest either looking in a magazine for some good exercises, Self Magazine always has great exercises in it ~ that is where I get a lot of mine. Or if you like working out at home get a weight lifting DVD.

    As far as abs I do a lot on the "ball" I try to put a weight on my chest when doing crunches on the ball, or floor, just to add a little to it. I really don't do anything special, just lots of reps, and correct form. If you don't currently do abs, or not a lot, there isn't any kind of crazy thing you need to do - correct form is most important. Again, you can find good examples in Self.

    (I swear I don't work for Self magazine or anything like that!) LOL

    My exercise consists of 6 days a week of 60 minutes of high intensity cardio (usually elliptical at a high intensity).

    And I just started doing more weights, and do them daily as well for 30 minutes.

    And I do abs everyday (as long as they're not sore from the day before)

    I had to work up to the 60mins of high intensity. It is better to do it for a longer time rather than harder for less time. I started doing 30 and would add like 5 minutes or so everyday.
