This started when I stepped on the scale and was at my highest ever weight - 235lbs. I already knew I was deep into the 'Obese' category, but being barely 10lbs away from 'Morbidly Obese' is pretty scary, especially with a close family history of heart disease and diabetes.

While a baywatch body would be appreciated, I know I'm more than just my size. This is about more than vanity or self-consciousness. I'm taking care of myself, giving myself the best chance to live my life to its fullest.

The journey so far hasn't been easy. I've hit plateaus, 'forgotten' to exercise, had quite a few cheat meals 'just this once', or even gone back to my old ways for weeks on end. It's all taught me one very important lesson:

Just pick yourself up and don't be too hard on yourself - you can only fail by giving up.

My Program:
Eat less, move more :)

I'm making the effort to make better decisions with my food. I try not to worry about the cost of getting quality fresh produce, and find that I quite enjoy home cooking. Lots of veg, chicken, fruit and porridge.

Also, I have joined a local gym, and been making the effort to go at least twice a week, mainly on the cardio machines for at least 90 mins. Can't say I've got a perfect record, but am still trying.
