I'm 51 years old; living since the summer of '07 in the Rochester, NY area with my husband, two teenage sons and our sc hnauzer/poodle mix, Maggie. I'm a librarian by training and am currently working part-time from home, doing research for a management consulting firm. In my spare time I love to read, take walks, play with my dog, and go to theater and concerts.

My Goals:
--To finally lose and keep off those last 15 pounds. I have been struggling with my weight and body image almost all of my life, and I refuse to turn 50 and still be in the same situation. To accomplish this I plan to:
--Get into and stick with an exercise routine that includes both cardio and strength training
--Become aware of emotional eating and find other ways to deal with stress, worry, conflict, etc.
--Understand my nutritional needs and eat appropriately so that I feel satisfied and healthy.

My Program:
--Follow the diet & exercise plan set up for me by SparksPeople!

Personal Information:
I was born in the Bronx, NY and have lived in NY State all my life, except for college and grad. school. My husband and I really like exploring upstate NY and are enjoying our new life here in Rochester.

Other Information:
Favorite books: There are so many, but some of the all-time favorites are:

Pride and Prejudice
The Forsyte Saga
Trollope's Palliser series
Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake
Evan S. Connell's Mr. Bridge and Mrs. Bridge
Georgette Heyer's Regency romances
Harry Potter

and many old favorites from my childhood, including:
Maud Hart Lovelace's Betsy-Tacy series
Enright's The Saturdays and sequels
Charlotte's Web

Thanks for the encouragement on my blog! You are so sweet!!

Two boys - Three boys - either way it is still all boys :-) They are fun, but they sure keep me moving as I am sure you know all about!

We are finally hitting spring here in MN. Would you believe we had snow just last week! Today it was 71 degrees and it was so nice just to get outside and get some fresh air.

    Have a great week!!

Hi Karen! Thank you so much for the kind words on my spark blog. It is more frustrating knowing I am in pain and it's not my fault- if i was in pain and i knew it was because I sprained my ankle or hurt my arm or something, as bad as this sounds i think i would be able to cope with it a little more then being in the pain for no reason.Thank you SO MUCH for that link on fibro- i'm able to relate to the girl Kristie in the article because a lot of younger people do not have it and as recent as saturday I got into an arguement with a family memeber over how much pain i'm actually in because i am not wheel chair bound. Thanks again and take care!!
