Longtime Past: I am a born and bred Jersey girl, but not that stereotypical one... South Jersey is like another planet, I mean, I grew up with more cows than people in my town... Ever since I can remember, I was always jealous of my sister for one thing or another. She was tall, super motivated, and skinny with a huge *ahem* chestal area. It always made me feel better knowing she has red hair and could possibly be the mailman's. HeHe. In most people's eyes, I guess I was the chubby one, but I never noticed it until weight was something teenage girls worried about. By that time, I was already at my heaviest weight I have ever been and DEFINITELY NOT my tallest height. High school years struggled on and I went down a little, mostly due to eliminating carbonated things from my life. If a boy was carbonated, he would have been out of the picture too (not that boys were even an issue). At 17, I hit my lowest weight that I can remember and that was 129 lbs. I have never seen the 120's since that point.

Near Past: COLLEGE LOVES POUNDS! Everyone knows the cafeteria rhetoric, so you all know what I mean. I don't deal well with stress, get little sleep, and even less exercise. The worst part is I am OBSESSED with nutrition. I read textbooks for fun, and basically have started a graduate thesis without even have taken a class (the program was removed after Hurricane Katrina). But like the old saying goes, "don't trust a skinny cook", well don't trust an overweight nutritionist. It's just kinda counter intuitive.

Present: When I found this website, I was amazed at the strength and motivation that seems to infuse every person... Even on people's worst days, they are lifting others up. Now that's what I call support. There are multiple reasons for wanting to lose weight (and a few not, but the good def. defeats the bad) and my goals are both realistic to my brain and my body. I've started working out consistently, making correct food choices, and paying attetion to how much water I am drinking.

Future: I hope to lose 17 lbs of body fat by the end of summer, with the first 10 before I go home in May. I will exercise 5-6 times per week, eat the recommended amount of calories, and drink enough water to hydrate my body. I will take a multivitamin every day and will NOT weigh myself daily. When my goal is reached, I will reward myself accordingly and when my ultimate goal is done, I will maintain the best way I can. It will be a learning process, but I don't think there is a better lesson learned than being healthy.
