2018 Update - I reached my goal weight November 25, 2012. Most of 2017 I hovered just above goal weight but I didn't stress. I continued to maintain my healthy habits.

2018 called for some adjustments. I went through PT for a strained periformis and rediscovered the importance of regular strength training, falling in love with dreaded lunges and glute work along with other muscle groups.

I do not define myself by the scale. It's not about being skinny for me. It's about strength and endurance now.

I believe in baby steps to achieve goals and maintain lifelong healthy habits.

I look forward to continue learning from Spark friends and staying active in 2019!

Thanks so much for the kind words you left on my blog today. I appreciate the support of the Spark community! I guess I never stopped to realize that life isn't without struggle and neither is doing something hard like weight maintenance.

Just because I'm struggling along the way doesn't mean I'm not maintaining because I actually AM! I just need to refocus and keep doing what I know works for me.

Thanks, Kellie, for all of your support over the years! Goodies, posts, comments, they all fill me up with strength, motivation, and all kinds of good feelings. When we were in Europe for 12 days in September we really indulged our Sweet Tooth! We read all kinds of stuff about the healthy Mediterranean Diet, but I'm here to tell you - they love their breads, pastas, deserts, and sugar! I knew that when we got home I would need to nip that bad habit right in the bud. BTW - I know exactly how you feel when it comes to missing your walking buddy. We ended up having to get another dog to ease our sadness.
