I began this journey around 2005 when I was so big I had to use the cargo scales at work to weigh myself (at night when nobody would see me). It was a grossy inaccurate scale that could change as much as 15 pounds between stepping off and back on, but from repeated weigh ins, I guestimated my weight to be about 375 lbs.

That scared the hell out of me as I had always thought 400 lbs was the "point of no return". I found and read "Eat To Live" (great book) which helped me with diet choices and bought a bike and started riding. In about a year I was down to about 308 lbs.

That was all fine and dandy except that I hit a plateau and got out of my habits. Luckily "Eat To Live" helped me changed my diet choices enough I didn't go straight back to my original weight. Even with less exercise I somewhat maintained for a while, then eventually put a little back on.

I started realizing, thank to the first time seeing "The Biggest Loser", that I needed to continue that weight loss trend and that IT IS POSSIBLE! I found SparkPeople thanks to a friend here that I know from a cycling website (jaxgtr in my friends list) and have started losing weight again.

This journey (2nd phase of the total journey) began at 319 lbs and won't end until I'm 200 lbs (or less).
