I joined Sparkpeople at first to obsessively log all of my calories, carbs, fat etc. as I have in the past with other programs. I've learned that now I am going to use this site to make sure that I am eating healthy for my body. Making sure I meet my daily food group/nutrient requirements is much more important to me than fitting into a pair of skinny jeans.

Fitness Minutes: 5,634

My Goals:
1. Return to a healthy eating pattern that does not include disordered eating habits.
2. Meet all of my nutritional requirements needed to keep my body in top shape.
3. To increase my stamina and strength through cardio and strength training exercises.
4. To tone and shape up my body.
5. To focus on how I look and feel, not how much the scale reads.

My Program:

Personal Information:
I'm a college student and had to withdraw from school seven months ago because I was anorexic/bulimic. The anorexia worsened and I was forced to put myself into an eating disorder treatment facility. I am now 20 pounds heavier or should I say healthier. I still have bulimic episodes and want to work on a healthy eating pattern to curtail and eventually eliminate these behaviors. I am returning to school in the fall and want to be my happiest and healthiest I have ever been!

Other Information:
Eat for your health first, appearance second. Even seemingly healthy looking or thin people can be devoid of the essential nutrients all of our bodies need. Disease, cancer, and illness can possibly be prevented with a good eating and exercise plan. So take healthy steps for those reasons. Please people, we need to stop with all of this vanity!

I’ve belonged to a lot of teams here on spark-- i really do believe that the Emotional Eaters team is one of the very best, it’s a great group of people- very supportive and encouraging-- and it is very refreshing to talk with people who "get" what you're going through!! ¸¸.•¨¸♥¨`*,¸.•*´¨`*• .¸♥.*¸.•´¸.•*¨¸.•*¨¸.•´¸.•*¨) ¸.•*¨)

Spark has a lot of great tools, and you will learn which ones work best for you. The best tools are the people tho, always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder. I’ve been here for over a year now, and I still am overwhelmed, every day, by the kindness and goodness of others on this team!! That has made a world of difference for me. I hope you have the same success! ¸¸.•¨¸♥¨`*,¸.•*´¨`*• .¸♥.*.•*¨¸.•´¸.•*

I admire you're ability to take a break from school to focus on your recovery. I've been struggling with doing the same thing as I have convinced myself that I could do both. I think my whole perception of having my ED "under control" is what's really holding me back from doing what you have done. Good for you & I wish you the very best in your road to recovery.
