Hello Everyone! I've been a Spark member since late March 2006, and it has made a big difference in my life. I really needed to do this, but wanted to do it on my terms, and Spark lets me do just that!

Gradually I regained all the weight, and then some. In 2017 I tried eating the foods specifically beneficial to my personal health, and that made a big difference. I felt great, and lost a bit of weight, but didn't really track anything. And due to work-related stress I didn't stick with it.

Now I'm retired, and in 2018 there was a stressful family event that caused me to lose about 10 pounds rather quickly. That was the boost I needed to get moving again. I'm almost halfway to my longterm goal, and feeling great!

My Goals:
My goals are to lose 110 pounds, feel better physically and mentally, and to maintain a healthier lifestyle. That was from 2006. My short term goal is to lose 20 more pounds by November 2019.

My Program:
I''m trying to do some kind of exercise every day, eat healthier foods, and give up the old habits that made me put on the pounds. I''m drinking a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day. However, I''m not going to substitute real food with plastic non-fat, fake-sugar sweetened food if I can at all help it.

Personal Information:
I''m from Trempealeau, Wisconsin, which is right on the Mississippi River in Western Wisconsin.

Other Information:
I love to knit, weave, spin, and basically do all kinds of needlework. I have three cats, Rusty, Rollie, and Lilly, who are the best companions! I also like to read, garden, explore the countryside, and collect whatever strikes my fancy. This is also from 2006 or maybe 2008. Lily and Rusty are both gone now, and Rollie is a senior at 14. Gracie is the newest addition to the family.

Hi Ann. Great page. I love the pictures of your cats and I love the Cat Lovers Group. It's fun to talk about my favorite pets. Your picture looks great, keep up the good work, you'll be at goal in no time.

Thanks Deanne and Rachael! Now that the clothes are starting to fit better, I'm getting excited about knitting something for myself besides socks. I love to knit socks, but some sweaters would be fun. I just threw out the ratty old thrift store cardigan I wore around the house all last winter, so maybe I'll make a replacement!

Ann, I am impressed with the beautiful sweater you knit. It is beautiful. I am not surprised since anyone who can knit while walking on her treadmill is obviously talented!
    The cats are great, too!

I never told you how impressed I was by your fair-isle cardigan. I have only dabbled in intarsia myself- I usually get cought up in making baby things, so the idea of taking on a project like that is amazing to me. I'm also going to make myself a LGTW sweater. Can't wait 'til we can model them!

Hi, Knittingkitty! I am a knitter and a cat-lover, too, so I followed the link to your blog from one of the message boards, and I just wanted to tell you that I really liked your goal of being able to fit into the sweater you knitted. I started knitting a sweater about 2 years ago. I got about halfway through it and then my short knitting-attention-span kicked in, and I haven't worked on it since.

At any rate, since that sweater was started before I gained most of my college weight, maybe I could have a parallel goal of re-starting work on my sweater and being able to fit into it well by the time it is done! Thanks for the inspiration, and nice to meet you :)
