I originally joined Spark People about 3 yrs ago. I was so excited!! I told everyone about it! Well, I have come & gone a few times since then. I was very commited until about the time my daughter got married & at the same time, my mother, who is in the final stage of COPD came to live with me. Now I barely do what has to be done most days & some days even that doesn't get done!
I am almost 53 yrs old, the mother of a beautiful daughter & 2 handsome sons and have 2 adorable granddaughters.
I have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Osteoarthritis, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Hypothyroidism & have to eat a Casein-free diet. That is a lot but I am so blessed that that's ALL I have! It could be so much worse even though it's pretty bad a lot of days! I just thank God for each day!
I started out needing to lose about 100 lbs. Now I need to lose about 60. Now that I am on a Casein-free diet that is easier to do because I can't have so much of what I love! lol
Excited about another new beginning! Sadly, it is without one of the sweetest ladies I've ever known! I met her on SparkPeople but unfortunately, never in person. She was a huge motivator for me but told it to me straight too. I love her & miss her.

My Goals:
Today is September 2 and my goal is to lose 14.8 lbs in 90 days (Nov. 30th) for weight of 140. I am going to track my food and fitness. I plan to exercise at least one hour a day for 4 days a week.

My Program:
Now that I am on a Casein-free diet I am just logging my food usually before I eat it so I know what it will mean to my overall day. This is very new to me!! I am also doing mainly chair exercises due to my back pain. I am in physical therapy for my back & thanks to God & my physical therapy team, I haven't had to use a walker for over a year!

Personal Information:
My name is Karen and I live in KY. I have 1 daughter & son-in-law, 2 sons & 2 adorable granddaughters!!

Hi there not to worry, you score things when you cut only through the skin, just the skin not very deep.

You can score a piece of card to make it fold easier.

Cutting the skin while the potato is uncooked is easier than my Mothers way which was to peel the hot potato with her fingers no less.
I never thought about explaining the word I am from England and live in Maine. Glad to meet you Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon

LOL been there done that.... :) God sometimes knows what we need to read and when we need to read it...

Tonight is the RLS acting up... I get comfy and then it feels like bugs crawling on my legs... then major jerks... and i am wide awake again... UGH! I dozed a bit but i was in there trying to conquer sleep for the last 3 hrs... I had to get up.. and take some Melatonin w/ L-tryptophan , and a couple benadryl. My girlfriend really gets relief from RLS with Potassium and at times quinine .... due to kidney issues i have.. i can't take either... so i am just thankful it's not a nightly occurrence!

I am thankful for the nights when i get sleep... I really am....

Thanx for cheering me on..... and the comment on my blog....

Sadly, tonight happens to be a night i get to sleep in 1hr 45 min chunks... I very much know about FMS, Chronic Pain, etc etc... but sadly I have just been diagnosed with "Of course your back injuries are gonna cause Muscle Spasms and we know what injury caused your pain, so it can't be FMS or anything simular"... instead of the reality of "Ohhh You have 16 points flared of the 18 points, and You mean you have had those knots that are visible in your arms and legs for the last year.... that means something..." Ohhh sorry, triggered my RANT... IBS is the culprit for my wake up calls *tonight* though....
so I totally understand about... I am still awake.... Me too!

I am not sure how you "found" Your way to my blog :) (as your list didn't seem to be any that I am a Member... )but glad you did!
