I'm an almost 45 mother of 4, ranging in age from 11 to 25. I work as a church administrator and am mostly sedentary, I've gained a considerable belly. Another struggle is that the eleven year old is incredibly picky and sensory processing disorder makes it worse. It's time for me to take charge of my health, my weight, and show my youngest that healthy eating and physical activity are the best way to live!

My Goals:
The most important to me is that I want to model a more healthy lifestyle for my almost 5-year-old. Feeling better would be fab, too! Oh, and I've always wanted to be able to shop at Forever 21 and not worry if I can find something that fits. I love love love Fashion (turn to the left ...)!

My Program:
Counting calories - adding more fruits and veg.
Staying away from trigger foods (Oreos esp :) )
Walking the dog once a day at least - working up to more
Trying to get to 8 cups of water a day

Starting Weight: 240
Goal: 160
Lose 80 pound total (to bring me to healthy BMI)

Lose 5% body weight (@ 228)
Lose 10% (@ 216)
Lose 15% (@ 204)
Lose 20% (@ 192) - also, no longer obese!
Lose 25% (@ 180)
Lose 30% (@ 162)

Personal Information:
I grew up in Ohio to English, Irish, German folk who like to eat, esp their meat an potatoes!

I'm a Gardener, Domestic Goddess, Mother, and Wife.
Former Pediatrician, Present Blogger, Future unknown.
I am addicted to knitting.
It is shameful to admit it, but pop culture gossip intrigues me.
I want Rachael Ashwell to design my home.
My garden is organic and perennial.
I bake a mean apple pie.
I also cross stitch, crochet, quilt, sketch, and play the piano, but enough about that.
My kids are my joy.
I love my husband more that all of the grains of sand in all of the oceans, beaches, and sandboxes in all the world.
A field of dandelions in full bloom is a glorious thing.
I've subscribed to Vogue since I was 16 but British Country Living is my favorite.
The Time Traveler's Wife transported me.
An American in Paris makes me feel squishy inside.
I wish I could sing like Chaka Khan.

    Thanks for the rose goodie! I enjoy your VBlogs. I find that using my exercise time on walks to be good "me" time, using my iPod to listen to favorite music, audio books, or just think through stressful situations. I also enjoy tuning into the beauty of nature at the park I walk in. I don't like walking outside when it is below freezing though, so I'm trying to incorporate some yoga videos and other stuff I can do at home when the weather is disagreeable. I have found my mood to be improved when I do my two mile walk, even if my joints hurt. Keep up the good work, and you'll be feeling better as the year goes on.
