Hi! My name is Stephanie.
I used SparkPeople back in 2009, and my weight loss was slow but in a few years I did manage to lose a decent amount of weight, and I was starting to look really great even though I wasn't close to my (possibly too extreme) goal.
Then, I switched to myfitnesspal because more of my friends were using it. However, in the long run it didn't do much for me, and I think I recently realized that the calorie limit is more detrimental and less helpful that SP's calorie range, because I would eat as many calories as I could, just because I could.

After several years of dieting with long lasting plateaus, but still sustained loss, a minor injury and other things waylaid me for awhile, and I was dismayed to have gained back nearly half of what I'd lost, and so very quickly. It depressed me because I had been working so hard for so long on what at the time had felt like meager weight loss, and I gave up all together for a little while, and then I gained back even more.
When all my cute newer clothes stopped fitting as well as they used to and I dreaded getting dressed up to go out, I pulled myself up, got a few cute outfits to make me feel better in the here and now, and dedicated myself to trying again without putting so much pressure on myself. Now my goals are more achievable, less strenuous, and I'm focused on being kinder to myself this time through.
(Also, switching to kilograms helped take the pressure off of weighing myself, since I have no preconceptions on what is a "healthy bmi" in kilos. Now, it's just a number, and it doesn't make me feel bad to see it because I don't let myself know what is considered high or low. It just is.)

Fitness Minutes: 471

My Goals:
I'd like to lose about 15 kilos. After that, I'll see if I want to lose more. Mostly, I just want to be really strong and gain lots of muscle. I don't care how much I weigh as long as I can transform my body.

My Program:
Modest calorie deficit, vegetarian diet
Yoga, Kettlebell training, walking (thanks Pokemon Go for being so addicting)
Would one day like to get more involved in swimming and some form of martial arts/defensive classes

Married with 3 furry babies (1 dog and 2 cats)

Other Information:
Obsessed with reading and gaming. I'm a decent cook and I really enjoy working out to build muscle. I make cool stuff with yarn.
