Hi my name is bill. I'm 58 and live in Madison WI with my wife. I have a 27 year old daughter. Last December I weighed 299ish and could barely put my socks or shoes on--and other stuff. I went on a diet on my own and lost 25 pounds. Then started seeing a nutritionist. She told me about sparkpeople. Two months after she told me about it, June 20, I joined. I have lost about 16 pounds more since being on sparkpeople. i love to exercise and used to play sports and was one of the first joggers starting in 1976. I quit exercising in the mid 90's and gained a lot (and i mean a lot) of weight. Since March, I joined a health club and my exercise minutes have been going up since then. I am getting back into my joy in exercise. the endorphins are kicking in. Nevertheless, I had lost momentum by overeating--which killed any caloric advantage I had from exercise. In the last couple of days, I have joined a challenge team on one of my teams and discovered the chicago cubs team. Since then i have felt more energized by the program. I am sending emails and responding to stuff that team members write. feeling good about things today. One day at a time. thank you god.

My Goals:
1. weigh 192 by 5/24/09 (I weighed 299 on 12/15/07 and 264 when I entered sparkpeople6/21
2. sleep better/longer/be more awake during day
3. feel better about how I look
4. Lower my blood pressure and be more healthy
5. Become honest and open about what and how much I eat (stop sneak eating)

My Program:
1.Not eat after going to bed at least 5 days a week.
2. Go to the gym and exercise for at least a half hour 5 days per week.
3. Put all my eating into the spark program on nutrition
4. blog daily

    You're stronger than I am, not eating any of the cookies you made. I ended up eating "just one" that turned into about six ... 2 WW Points each. Ugh.

    Anyway, it's a new day, filled with opportunities to make new choices. I'm off to a good start, with a healthy breakfast and (soon) a workout.
