My physician husband recommended SparkPeople to me as a way to track what I'm doing in my weight loss. It was a great referral!

Are there any other folks from Charlotte? Would love to get to know you.

I am a metalsmith. Any jewelers, please chat with me. I'd really enjoy hearing from you.

My Goals:
I hope I am able to help others on their journey to good health & fitness.
For the Fall:
- increase the weight loss per month. Try for 1.5 to 2 lbs per month.
- Get on a better sleep regime. Get at least 7 hrs per night.
- Increase the amount of cardio I do each week.

2-16-19 Time to reset goals: with surgery coming up soon I will have to adjust my goals for a bit.

-Diet & Exercise: will have to be focused on healing & regaining strength as healing permits. Keeping an eye
on what I can do during this period.
-This is a great time to work on improving sleep; establish the minimum 7 hrs or more each night.
-Work on my jewelry as this is something I will be able to do in some form. It brings me joy :-)
-Keep spirits up & look for what makes one smile or laugh.
-Encourage/support others.

emoticon Hi there! I noticed you playing the "Change one letter game" in the over 50 need to lose 50-100 lbs Team. It's a clever game. You can ONLY change ONE letter though, and you can't add any letters either. So today I changed mire to ream, changing the I to an a. Hope to see you playing the game again!

sorry to hear you have back issues and hope you've discussed with your doctor what you can do. I know when I started out I just walked in 10 - 15 mins spurts. My pedometer tracked "aerobic" steps and that meant I was walking briskly enough for at least 10 minutes. Since I was working at the time, I got in a few walks/day to build up to getting at least 30 mins of aerobic walking. I will say that over time I built up my endurance and wasn't really getting the cardio benefit and had to up the workouts.

Swimming is great as is water aerobics. At our gym we have a Nu Step machine that is a recumbent elliptical machine that gives a good cardio workout and seems to be good for those with back issues.
HTH. Just added you as a friend.
