I am ready to get back on track in 2008!

I achieved some great fitness and health goals in 2007. I worked hard to lose weight and be in the 160s by my birthday in May. I also trained to become a real runner -- and I achieved that goal also, with four 5K road races and one 10K road race proudly achieved in 2007. I also wanted to work out 200 times by the end of the year -- and I blew that goal out of the water with 230 workouts for the year! I lost about 24 lbs in 2007.

Now it's 2008 and I've put some of those back on so I need to keep fighting to stay consistent, keep focused and get my program back on track.

For 2008, I want to get back to my running peak from 2007 of being able to regularly run 5Ks without missing a beat. I also want to drop these extra pounds and keep losing. My ultimate goal weight is 155 and I'll see that in 2008 as I continue to focus on increasing FITNESS and health.

Studies show that only 5 percent of people who lose weight are able to keep it off longterm. In the past, I've lost this much weight before only to eventually gain it all back. But I've NEVER had such a strong fitness focus before, and I know this will make the difference!

My longterm goal, mission and focus is to get the rest of this extra weight off and then KEEP it off for a lifetime through a longterm commitment to peak fitness. I am a powerful positive force so I know that I will make it happen this time. I hope to spread lots of sparks, and meet lots of great sparkpeeps, along the way. :)

My Goals:
Attain ferocious fitness in 2008, the year I turn 38!

Continue to improve upon my running -- time, distance and speed. about every month! My best 5K treadmill time to date is 36:40 and my best 5K race time is 37:35.

Get this extra weight off once and for all, and keep it off to become a lifetime success story, aka 5 percenter.

Feel amazing, fit into my size 10 and smaller jeans and clothes, look my best and be 155 when I turn 38 in May 2008

My Program:
Re-joined WW for the umpteenth time on 1/3/07 -- and most likely joining again in Jan. 2008 because it's a great program and I love our leader.

Work out before work (zero dark five hundred) five days a week, plus on weekends, and try to add in extra exercise (walks with the dogs, bike rides, hikes, evening yoga, etc.) as often as possible.

Workouts include 40-45 mins of cardio mixed in with strength training/ weights and some pilates and core training

I've become an avid rookie runner -- started from the couch and I am steadily increasing my running time, distance and speed. I'm running 5Ks regularly now and it feels AMAZING! :)

Personal Information:
I'm originally from Long Island, New York but my family switched coasts and lives in Cali. As for me, I have lived in Ohio for almost 10 years. My husband and I moved to Columbus from Dayton about 2 years ago. I work in public relations and love it. I have the best husband in the universe (newlyweds as of 12/1/05) and we have 3 awesome dogs and a crazy green Quaker parrot! No kids yet... but who knows.

Other Information:
I love mermaids, the Ocean, travel, running, working out, the TV shows Lost and Pushing Daisies, motorcycling, scrapbooking and s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g myself by trying new things, being courageous and conquering fears! My latest achievements include giving blood and becoming a regular donor (2007), buying and learning to ride my very own motorcycle (summer 2006) and training for and running my very first 5K road race (spring 2007). Who knows what's in store for 2008!

    April is a brand new month. For me and hopefully for you as well a time to reflect on what you learned from what you did or did not do last month. It’s a fresh start to recommit to following the SP program and becoming a better you. I’d like to encourage you to join us on the team board at Doin’ It Again (The Right Way) and take part in the group. The challenges and even just the daily chit chat with other members can be very motivating. Hope to see you there!
