I'm a 38 year old adoptive mom of 7, 4 boys at home. Trying to lose the extra pounds that I acquired this past year and get healthier.
I was born with a congenital heart and lung condition.Which does limit the physical activities that I can take part in. That never really bothered me when I was younger, oddly enough. Only in the last few years. I'd love to be able to hike up a sand dune(we have plenty of them here in northern Michigan!),run, be outside in the winter doing ANYTHING! But I ...

I was born with a congenital heart and lung condition.Which does limit the physical activities that I can take part in. That never really bothered me when I was younger, oddly enough. Only in the last few years. I'd love to be able to hike up a sand dune(we have plenty of them here in northern Michigan!),run, be outside in the winter doing ANYTHING! But I am lucky because of all that I CAN do that,according to my cardiolgists, I shouldn't be able to. If I went by what they've said, I should have died before I was 10! But I am raising my children, caring for my home, and can even do strength training as well as a certain level of cardio. Doctors just don't always have the answers...

My Goals:
My goals,hmm...My primary goals are to get healthier, be more active, and to eat ONLY when I'm hungry. That last one is pretty difficult for me because I LOVE food and eat when I'm bored, lonely, happy, sad, etc..
I want to be healthier at 40 than I was at 20, which shouldn't be too hard!I want to be a happier, more content, and calmer human being ,too.
My Program:
Mainly, I will be eating healthier again.And MOVING! A year ago I was the thinnest and healthiest I've ever been in my life.Primarily because of walking my dogs, 5 miles, 5 times a week. Plus strength training and lots of dancing with friends. I no longer have dogs(my son's allergies)and circumstances have changed so that I don't dance much anymore. I need to find new ways to get active again that I also really enjoy.

I live in Traverse City, Michigan. Originally from Detroit. Been in the general area for about 10 years, but just moved to Traverse a few months ago. I'd love to find a friend or two, Not just for weight loss/health motivation,but someone with commmon interests to hang out with. Where you arfrom, your name, your email address.
