Introduction Text Well, my name is Amanda. I am 24 years old and I have a lot of work to do. It's funny but in my minds eye I was always much thinner than I really am..I think that is how I have managed to get this far gone. You hear people say "I was in denial" and you kind of dismiss them. Sure you were. Well... When I first started wearing a size 2X I still saw myself as I was when I was wearing a Large. I literally did not see it. I can say... I was in denial. I recently read a book called "Never Say Diet" written by an amazing Christian woman named Chantel Hobbs. Oddly enough shes my hero..and that's saying something because I never look up to anyone in the media. I want to be Chantel someday. Seriously. She loves her family, she loves God, she has a thirst for life and shes beautiful to boot! I would say I am following her plan, but there isn't exactly a plan to follow. I am getting to know God, learning to give him this whole struggle and I am slowly incorporating discipline (a nice way of saying that I am trying not to be lazy). I have a daughter who just turned two and I also have over 100 pounds to lose. If Chantel could lose 200 though, I think that it is very doable for me to do my part. I'm not pretending that I have all of the answers but... I think there comes a point when you have to decide that even if you don't get it right..giving up on weight loss and hitting the local Taco Bell isn't a viable option anymore. (I love Taco Bell...) I'll update this when I actually have something to share :)
