Since I turned 50, I'm finding it harder to keep off the weight especially around my middle. I know I can do this but I need the support of this community. As a first born, I'm extremely motivated by extrinsic rewards like points and awards, so I'm hoping these aspects of sparkpeople will help me reach my goals.

Since I turned 50, I'm finding it harder to keep off the weight especially around my middle. I know I can do this but I need the support of this community. As a first born, I'm extremely motivated by extrinsic rewards like points and awards, so I'm hoping these aspects of sparkpeople will help me reach my goals.



Member Since: 7/10/2008

My Goals:
1. Lose 23 lbs by the end of the school year
2. Exercise regularly--cardio 5 times a week and strength training 3 times a week.
3. Increase my energy levels
4. Increase my flexiblity.
5. Look better both in and out of my clothes.

My Program:
 I'm following a low calorie diet, walking, and following SparkPeople's suggested program for strength training


Personal Information:
I'm 50, I've been happily married for30 years, and I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
I teach high school English and I love it. It helps keep me young and enthusiastic about life.

Other Information:
 I love books, movies, riding motorcycles with my husband, playing with my grandchildren, and sharing my love of learning with others.

    Thanks so much for the "spark" fitness trainer! The boost it gave me is close to that which a real trainer would provide - and probably much kinder and gentler. After slipping the past several months, I'm refocusing again and am determined to reach my goal weight by September. Thanks again for the goodie and good luck with your 2011 spark goals!
