Update, it is now October 2009 and I am almost to my original goal date that I set of being 135 by Christmas of this year... it's not going to happen sadly.

I have been rollercoasting with my weight these past couple years and dealing with depression, yadda yadda. Basically what most of the people here have been dealing with as well.. not looking for pity :).

But.. here is the good part, I am back, with a vengeance! Challenge me! Remind me about my goals, whatever it takes, but this weight must be gone! My biggest challenge I have come to realize, is how to cook for weight loss.

My August 2008 goal is to lose 10 lbs with the help of Stormy's Challenge members I should be able to do it!

I am a huge believer in plastic surgery now. I used to view it akin to cheating, but after finally getting fed up with being large breasted my whole life, I took the plunge and got rid of my plunging neckline in the process! I am now happily a b-c cup and could never have imagined how very happy that would make me. It really got me motivated to lose weight and get back in shape the way nothing has in the past!

A little about how I ended up coming to SparkPeople.

I have been a yoyo dieter most of my adult life.

I was anorexic as a teen, I remember the day my mom realized that I had not eaten in almost 2 weeks. I was 13 and the Twiggy look was in style. I then got chubby after being hit by a car when I was 14, several months of bed rest will tend to do that to ya though.

I lost it, I gained it, I lost it, I gained it. But all in all I never got over 150, even on a bad day, I always hovered right around the 135 mark.

After the birth of my last child though I skyrocketed up to 240. I had not stepped on a scale in ages, our house was in a constant state of construction and we were living out of rubber maids til it was done. No mirrors, no scales... and honestly I did not see the weight piling on.

I remember the day I stepped on my moms scale on a visit and about hit the floor. I was aghast, 240 lbs, I jumped off the scale so fast that no one saw what it registered.

I literaly went home and started walking, and walking, and walking.

I was up to 9 miles a day in no time and the weight just melted right off of me. I learned how to cook right and stopped serving multi course meals the like of which you would find at Martha Stewarts house. Looking back I can't believe that I used to actually deep fry food!

This was all 10 years ago though. I kept the weight off for years after that wake up call. Actually got down to around 125 and looked pretty damn good if I say so myself ;)

But, only til around 3 years ago when all of a sudden it piled on again. I was bit by a tick, the tests keep coming back negative but we understand that it may never come back positive for Lymes disease. It has made it really hard to lose weight, between the arthritis that suddenly appeared and the lethargy that makes me feel narcoleptic at times...

I am also older now and it is not coming off as easily lol, nor are the miles piling up on my walking shoes the way they did back then. But I am trying, and with the friends here pushing and helping I know I can do it again!

Fitness Minutes: 877

My Goals:
My goal is to get down to 130 range, at my age I know I am not going to hit the 120s like I was in my 30's but I would just be happy to be *fit* again and have my energy level back!


My Program:
I am in the process of re-figuring what type of diet program I am going to use. Right now I am just revving up to get back in action. Eating light and healthy meals will be my main priority til then.

Hi! My name is Lisa and I am a SAHM to 3 kids. I started my journey to getting back my figure in early '07. I have had lots of set backs over the past few years that have kept me from reaching my goal. But each days is new and with it are new opportunities to make the most of. I plan on taking advantage of each new day and working towards my goal no matter what the set back.


Other Information:
I am really digging yoga and when I *do* find the time to work out I choose to use my yogalates DVD's. The work outs are awesome and really make me feel like I got my times worth out of the exercise.
