Hi,

Updated Dec 08, 2019. Seven and a half years later and I'm back. Weight has been up and down over the years. I have been back up to 190lbs and have lost it and been down to 160 again but now back up to 175 lbs and want to again get back down to 160lbs.

Lots of changes... Now retired and spend winters in Texas and summers in Ontario.

Daughter is in a relationship with a great guy that has now brought two granddaughters into our life.

Have gone through a cancer scare but now cancer free since May 2017.

Determined to get this done!

Updated: July 16, 2012. I have just transitioned to Maintenance as I`ve achieved my goal weight - 160 lbs (I`m six feet tall).

It took me from January to get here but the one thing I`ve learnt from the past is that slow and steady is the way to go. I could not have done ths without the SP site. The trackers - the teams - the encouragement. To anyone just starting out - get into this - immerse yourself - remember that everyone on this site is here for the same reason your are and all want to help each other achieve a healthier lifestyle.

I will continue to use this site to maintain my new lifestyle!

Previous - Jan 2012 - I joined SP in Jan 08 to give me the encouragement I needed to lose weight - it certainly was a great help. I stopped using the site in April 08 - when I went on vacation. In 09 I joined up again but only lasted a week or two. Same again in 2010 and 2011. Now here we are in 2012 and I'm trying once again.

I need to lose weight but I know I can not do it on my own so I'm back to Sparks - more determined than ever. I know I will get the support here that I need to achieve my goals.

My Goals:
First Goal - by Feb 1st to weigh 160lbs, reduce my cholesterol and my blood sugars (only a little higher than they should be).

Overall Goal - to be healthy for my family and my future.


My Program:
Watching my calories, doing some light weight exercising (3 lbs) and walking.

Weigh myself once a week - Sunday mornings.



Personal Information:
I'm 63 - been married for 47 yrs this March. I have 2 kids - son 45 and daughter 41.

Also - 1 grandson born 2010 nd two granddaughters born 2005 and 2007

Live in Hamilton, Ontario.


Other Information:
Like to read, do soduko and crossword puzzles.

    Why not join the X-WEIGHTED CHALLENGE? We're all ages, all fitness levels, all striving to live a healthier life. There is always something to learn from each other. These teams are also a great source of motivation! We can become healthier by working together and making new friends as we go. We compete in weekly nutrition and fitness challenges. It is similar to the Biggest Loser team and will start a little after the new year. There are 3 teams that compete within the X-Weighted team. We do ATC (All Teams Challenge) various challenges (nutrition, fitness etc.) The main requirement is to post your weight weekly. The ATC challenges and/if individual teams have challenges are optional (however, very beneficial). If you have any questions, please let me know.
