This time, finally, I know I've got the right approach to weight loss, which is to say that Im NOT looking at weight loss really. Sounds funny doesn't it?! Well I'm here for a lifestyle change. I'm here to get HEALTHIER in any and every possible way. I want more energy, better moods, better confidence, better agility, better balance, better ability, better stamina, clearer skin, less facial hair, lower body weight, better heart health, better metabolic rate, calmer mensuration, a strong, lean-ish body that can allow me to enjoy all the wonderful things there are to enjoy in life! :-)

The scale is really not something that bugs me. I do hop on everyday, but it doesn't pull me down. Im looking for a slower than slow weight loss, but one that is rock solid. No bounce backs for me! I have gone on vacations and indulged more than usual and still come home to a lower weight! :-)

I eat everything when I REALLY feel like it, and i try to have way smaller portions of it. But mostly I happily decide to forego(spelling?) many food items that I feel aren't nourishing my body. I dont drink sodas, I dont have sugar, or ice cream etc. on a reguar basis. But I dont deprive myself of anything when I REALLY want it.

Changing a way of being (read binge eater, emotoinal eater etc.) takes about 2months of earnest trying. Its not even hard to do. One just has to make up ones mind, take a decision and then follow it through everyday. If u catch yourself wondering whether u want to add sugar, remind yourself that I needn't think about this AGAIN, this decision has already been taken. No sugar. Simple. Or It could mean why ask if i FEEL like going for a walk? I have taken the decision to walk 40 mins a day, I needn't think about it, JUST DO IT!

I've been here on SP off and on, for the last 6-7 years now! Its a blessing for me to be able to keep coming back, start off where I left off (or rather start off 25 pounds heavier) and work on my health again! SP is so wonderful! All the previous times my approach was wrong, I was working out and looking to the scale for approvals. If the scale wasnt moving fast enough, I did more and more and more to make it move. I burned out and quit soon enough. Or else the time came when I would go for a vacation. And in 1 week I would gain all the weight I'd lost in that past 2-3 months. Hence I would be so frustrated and over-whelmed. QUIT!

I realise each time that this has to be a way of life, not a phase. I SHOULDNT keep looking for results all the time. And I SHOULDNT want super fast weight loss. And the truth is that NOW I DONT! :-) I'm eating healthier and exercising only for the sake of eating healthier and exercising, the reward lies partly in following the plan and partly in the small varied non scale victories that I see every now and then. But Im not out there with a magnifying glass, frantically looking out for changes. My focus is on following the program. The results will follow at their own pace and time. I needn't worry about them. My results cant evade me for long.

I hope to befriend and help as many ppl along the way, so do drop a msg or a friend request if you feel like! :)

Ms. Lilhobbit, thank you for your kind remarks on my page. I am finding out that I lose weight at an ever so slow pace and it's frustrating. Especially when I am honestly doing all the right things. Please keep posting because your posts are incredibly motivating. Also, forgot to mention that I love how clear your pics come out. You are truly a cutie patooty pie! Blessings!

I've been to India three times. I've even been to Chandigarh, and I go to Delhi every times I'm in India (for Shopping :-)). I really miss going there again, but right now I can't...

Hi Mahima! What a great name you have. From which state are you?

And as for your question - Nope. I fell in love with a Sikh, a long time ago, but we didn't end up getting married.

Thank you for your encouraging words, Lllhobbit. I appreciate it. I did not think about my hormonal changes. I may be getting ready to start menopause. Heck, I don't know but I will keep that in mind. Honestly, I know my weight gain was because I was feeling sorry for myself when I became ill and self-medicated with too much comfort food. I'm dealing with the after effects of my illness but I'm handling it the best that I can. I'm going to make sure I set aside some time to read some of your blogs so that I can get to you know you too. You can never have too many Spark Friends!
