Interesting you mention wine contributing to overindulging. I notice this too. Half a bottle of wine makes it much harder for me to resist eating later in the evening which is the biggest saboteur of maintaining for me. Plus, I regularly stretch and do some body weight exercises a couple of hours after dinner and drinking too much completely messes with my willpower around that, even if I don't fall asleep due to the alcohol.
I like seltzer. We started making our own with a system we like. Saves the hassle of all the empty returns.
DH is a serious collector so every bottle of wine is an experience. We discuss the nuances of the flavors, etc., all the usual wine tasting stuff, so diluting isn't an option at least at home with our own wine. I don't avoid a beer in place of wine every couple of weeks. One bottle is one serving so that's easier in some ways. More carbs of course but my goal is not that strict.

Hey! I was just thinking about you being stuck on the couch. The one great thing about staying high-protein is that it will help you keep your lean muscle mass while you can't move much. Hope you are healing well!
