Hi! I saw your post about packing lunch for school and I thought I'd respond here, since in the main message boards things get lost easily. I think you'd do well with any type of sandwich, although I'd stay away from mayo if it's going to take you a while to eat it. I used to leave the house like 6 hours before I ate my lunch (double major + job 50 miles away from home, that is) and a salad container worked great, as long as I packed it with the dressing at the bottom, so it wouldn't get all soggy. Oh, and stiking to cherry tomatoes and cutting them once you're ready to eat, otherwise it all gets messy. Try to bring what I call "hard" fruits, like bananas, oranges, etc, so they don't go soft on the way. I always liked to pack some light (around 100kcal) snacks just in case. I didn't expect to need them, but if I was feeling specially munchy or something came up and I couldn't go home at the expected time, I was safe and away from the vending machine. I made up my own challenges about avoiding the just in case all week and then having it as a treat on sunday (yes, I know, that sounds nerdy). Anyway, about the carrying things around. My backpack was close to those of the Mt Everest climbers, so I used to carry a small fabric grocery bag with my food in it. That way I didn't have the risk of squeezed up snacks or actidentally open salad containers. Also, it was easier to drop the bag in my locker as soon as I reached campus and then go back to it when I needed it. Sorry for the ultra long post, I hope I helped!

Yeah. I just moved here in August. I go to school in Manhattan. I'm transferring next year though, to a school in Chicago. What about you?

Well I just started. I signed up a while ago, but I'm really getting into it now. I've started going to the gym every day and eating well. So I suppose we'll see where that leads me. I only started last week though. Haha. I'm excited for Monday for you too! Enjoy stepping on that scale! Do you live in NY?
