Motivated and Determined

Still close to goal weight after one year. I quit my jobs a few months ago to stay home with my boys full time. I have gained about 10 lbs back but I am finally finding my groove again and have been able to get back on track. I'm weighing in every week at my Weight Watchers meetings to make sure I am being honest. :) Not too worried about the weight gain as I know I am currently working on it. I don't want to focus too much on the number on the scale. I'm looking more at staying active and exercising on a regular basis and feeling good in the clothes I have.
I really want to do a 5k race this year.
**********************************
I've had weight issues just about my entire life. Then came baby number one ... along with almost 100 extra pounds. I couldn't believe only a 6lb baby came out. He should have been at least 75 lbs when he was born! I was able to lose all that extra weight. I actually got down to a size 7.
Four years later came baby number two ...
Once again I gained a lot of weight. Not quite as much but was still well into the 200's.
Eighteen months later came baby number three ...
I just don't learn do I?!? This time I was 250 lbs after I had him.
Okay, so now I have three kids ... I'm so busy being a full time mom I completely forgot to take care of myself.
I finally get a membership to the YMCA. I decide to take an aerobics class one day and within the first 5 minutes of class I injured my knee. Went to the hospital and ended up on crutches and had to wear a leg brace for 6 months. More weight finds me during my injury.
Two years later ... my knee is still injured. Can't go up or down stairs and I have to be very careful how I move. I got very sick, kept gaining a lot more weight. I finally couldn't take the agony and went to the doctor (it took me months to do this, I hate doctors!). They weighed me in at a whopping 308 lbs. He told me if I didn't do something right away I was NOT going to be around for my kids another year. I had aquired diabetes and severe sleep apnea and a few other medical issues. I got put on meds and had to get fit for a c-pap machine for my sleep apnea.
One week later I joined Weight Watchers. It was very scary. I did not want to be there but I didn't want to be unhealthy any more. After the first year of being with Weight Watchers I joined a gym by my house. I started doing water aerobics 5 days a week. I loved it! My knee started getting much better and I was finally able to go up and down stairs! YEA!!
I loved water aerobics so much I applied for a job to be a water aerobics instructor. I got certified and was a water aerobics instructor for just over a year. I loved it!
None of my life changes come easy ... but, motivation and determination keeps me going. I have fallen down so many times but find the strength to get right back up. Changing lifestyle takes a lot of hard work every day. But, it is possible with the right tools.
