Introduction Text Hi, I'm Madeline. I live in a rural area of Washington state and commute to my job near Olympia at the headquarters of a regional public library system. I'm 49 years old and am married to a wonderful man. We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary in June, 2011. Between us we have 4 grown kids and 2 grandsons. We have 2 dogs, Annie & Roxy. I am lucky to live in an area where opportunities for getting out and enjoying nature abound. I love hiking, walking, canoeing, camping, fishing, backpacking, photography, reading and writing. Some of my future goals are hiking the PCT, having an organic farm, and becoming a professional photographer and writer. Make hard things easier: hiking up mountains, xc skiing, snowshoeing, backpacking. Get fit enough to hike the PCT and do kayaking and canoeing trips. To live into old age healthy and active. I feel making permanent lifestyle changes rather than yo-yo-ing is the way to do that. I need to lose about 50 lbs but I am taking the focus off of that because I was getting into too negative of a mindset when the scale didn't budge.

Make permanent life-long lifestyle changes. Walk most days. Eat right (no crap).
