Trying again- 1/4/12
I'm a mother of 3 with a wonderful Husband. I've been on Sparkpeople for a long time. I've not made much progress. I feel more motivated when I have a lot of verbal support, but at the same time I don't tell many people that I'm trying to lost weight because of the failure factor. Not to mention I find that friends are to generous and don't keep me accountable to myself.

My hope is to find some good accountable friends on Sparkpeople who will be honest with me about what I'm doing to de-rail my weight loss efforts. If you're that kind of person- I'd love to chat with you.

HELLO, DO YOU KNOW ME?

Hello, do you know me?
If you don't, you should.
I'm a pound of fat.
And I'm the HAPPIEST pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why?
It's because no one ever wants to lose me;
I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!
Everyone wants to lose 3 pounds, 5 pounds, or 15 pounds, but never only 1.
So I just stick around and happily keep you fat.
Then I add to myself, every so slyly,
so that you never seem to notice it.
That is, until I've grown to 10, 20, 30 or
even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it is FUN being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT,
Left to do as I please.
So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying,
"Oh, I only lost one pound." (As if that were
such a terrible thing.)
For you see, if you do this, you encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm just not worth the effort.
