Welcome to my page!!

I discovered Sparkpeople in December of 2007, and was a member until October or November of 2008, when life happened and I left the site for a while. I was gone for about 3 months... but returned in January of 2009. I am staying at a fairly healthy weight, but I find that without tracking and accountability that this site provides, I start slipping back into my old bad eating habits and slack off on the exercise, as I have recently done. I am now re-focusing, and getting back with the program.

After several attempts at marathon training, and being sidelined by injuries every time, I have now completed 36 full marathons and 3 ultra marathons (50K and above). I began my training for my first one on September 14th, 2009 with the goal of running the Museum of Aviation Marathon in Warner Robins, Georgia on January 16, 2010. I followed the Hal Higdon training plan religiously, which lasted 18 weeks. And I am proud to say that on January 16th, 2010, I DID complete the Museum of Aviation Marathon with a chip time of 4 hours 54 minutes.

I am Marathon Maniac #3628!

I am finally getting serious about working toward being in the best shape of my life. I am shooting to one day FINALLY break 4 hours in the marathon and eventually, qualify to run Boston! Even after a knee surgery in 2014 that has left me barely running at all, these are still goals and I know that I can accomplish them.

I am currently doing the Bodybuilding.com/Jamie Eason LiveFit 12 week Trainer, which consists of heavy strength training 5 to 6x per week, with 3-4 days of that having an additional 30 minutes of cardio (my runs!!!). Saturday is my long run day, and Sunday is my rest day.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to transform my body and to be in the best shape of my life. Age is only a number... I believe that it doesn't matter how old we are, we can achieve amazing fitness!

In 2018, I hope to restart real training again, and hope to beat at least one of my running PR's.


My Program:
Currently, I am doing the Jamie Eason LiveFit Program (12 weeks). I am on my sixth round of the program.... it WORKS!!

I am also currently doing Hal Higdon's Novice 1 half marathon training program. Yes, novice. Even after all of those marathons and halfs. Because I need to start over and re-build a base to get my knee strong enough for distance. Safe, not stupid. :)

I am following a nutrition plan that is, simply put, 90% clean eating. Nutrition is 80% of the weight loss journey.. you can't have a fit body if you fuel it with junk. Besides, I hear Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym ---- and I want to see my abs!!



Personal Information:
I am a 45 year old divorced mother of three grown children. The youngest graduated high school in May 2016. I have an amazing boyfriend of 4 years. I don't remember a time when I was as happy as I am at this point in my life.

    Oh yes, you did say that about your next 5K! That's really cool about the historical part too. My husband would totally be game for that kind of a race, where he can go revel in the history. emoticon I'm not as much of a history buff as he is. You guys will have fun, I'm sure!

    First workout was great! I felt like I could easily fit it into my schedule, and I was also good and tired from it (and later sore). I did Day 2 yesterday, and did a modified Day 3 today. Here's my deal - I don't have a gym membership, so no way to do leg extensions or leg curls. So, I had to do all exercises I can do from home. I mixed it together with the leg workout from my last workout challenge, though, and finished a hard core leg day. I hope I can make it up my stairs for the rest of the day. I will probably do Day 4 tomorrow, then the next workout on Monday (so only 2 rest days instead of 3). I hope my running doesn't negatively effect my results, because I don't want to do no cardio... What do you think? Yesterday's storminess was pretty crazy! We had the same weather. Hope you are feeling better!

    Live Fit Day 1 is DONE!! Woot woot!

    Sorry you had to miss your 5K. That stinks! When is your next race? I am thinking about doing a half here in Tally on May 6th called Tails & Trails - it benefits the local animal shelter. I really want to get some speed back, and I am getting there. Don't know that I will be as fast as I was, but I'd like to work on it. I am thinking I will probably just do the half at Soldier, but am still undecided.

    Hey, girl! I unfortunately did not get my crap together to start Live Fit today. But I am going to shoot to start tomorrow!! I rested (strength training wise) this past week, and ran a 10K Saturday. I have been crazy busy with other things, but I really need a jump start! I did well with my last challenge, and then let things slide badly last week, especially in the area of diet. Gotta get back on track!
