    I got a message about a month ago that you had joined the Living Binge Free team. First of all, how did the bariatric surgery go? I couldn't tell from your profile if it was recent or not.

    And a belated welcome to the team! We concentrate more there on simply staying binge free first, losing weight second. After all, it's actually possible to be relatively slim and still binge, but it's a miserable life. But don't get me wrong. All our long termers have lost respectable amounts of weight and kept it off for years, even if they haven't gotten skinny. Skinny is not the measure of success, no matter what anyone says. But we do still feel the lure of food at times. Why wouldn't we? Humans are wired to want dense calories, and there's never been a time in history when we had so many dense calories available for so little effort. The culture doesn't support limiting eating; we have to band together in our hearts to oppose the pressures.

    Our focus is on supporting each other to find eating routines that we can stick to, including how to manage eating out holidays, etc. The odds are against extreme programs, even though the internet can make them look wildly successful. But if something extreme does fit anyone's lifestyle, more power to her.

    Our 21-day streak thread is really more of a chat thread, though we also have one with the abbreviation LBM- Life Between Meals- in its title. It's very important to see that our eating is really only a small part of who we are. Please come take a look and lurk or jump in as you wish.
